The Solana de Ramirez winery

It is a family company rooted in Ábalos - Rioja Alta, one of the most prized areas of the denomination, dedicated since several generations to the cultivation of the vine, production and aging of its wines.
The winery built in sandstone is very well integrated with the beautiful landscapes and artistic monuments of Ábalos.
The annual production is from 400 to 500 thousand bottles of red, white and rosé wine, coming from the family farm. The wines are elaborated with careful artisan mime, being the result very natural, tasty and with character wines, that consumed without excess can be beneficial for the health.

Denomination of Origin of Valsarte Reserva

It belongs to the DO Rioja, a name that dates from the late nineteenth century, but is not officially formed until 1925.
The area that receives this denomination of origin includes the autonomous communities of Rioja and the Basque Country.
The grapes produced in this denomination are: Tempranillo, Garnacha tinta, Mazuelo, Graciano and Maturana tinta
The wines of this denomination are characterized for being fresh, aromatic wines, with an excellent ship and above all they are very balanced wines.
Rioja wines are easy to drink wines.

Varieties of grapes used in Valsarte Reserva

Made with grape varieties, 85% tempranillo, 15% graciano.
Vineyards: They cultivate 50 Hectares of vineyards, in the municipalities of Ábalos and San Vicente de la Sonsierra (Rioja Alta), 70% tempranillo, 30% graciano, grenache, viura and other varieties; located from north to south from the foot of the Sierra Cantabria to the vicinity of the Ebro river.
The earth is calcareous clay, which together with the existing micro-climate influenced by the Cantabrian and Mediterranean air currents, make this area ideal for producing wines of excellent quality.
