The Pago de Los Olivos winery

The objective is to produce wines with their own personality and kindness to the palate, respecting the terroir of these privileged areas; to be able to extract from these two great varieties; La Verdejo and La Tinta Fina, all the potential as maximum exponents of viticulture and enological culture of the Castellanas lands.

Denomination of origin Ribera del Duero

It belongs logically to the denomination of "Ribera del Duero". Denomination on the banks of the river Duero with an area of ??115 km long and 35 km wide.
Located in the regions of Castilla y León, it extends through the provinces of Soria, Burgos, Segovia and Valladolid.
This denomination was constituted in 1982, and mainly red and rosé wines are elaborated.
To qualify for this denomination the wine must have at least 75% of the Tempranillo grape in its production, and be grown in the areas of the denomination.
The grapes are also produced: Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec, and Merlot, and to a lesser extent the grapes, Garnacha and Albillo.

The tempranillo grape

Centennial vineyards located at 770 mt. of altitude in Valbuena de Duero with a yield inferior to 3.000 Kg / Ha and centenary strains located to more than 950 mt. of altitude in Baños de Valdearados and Hontoria de Valdearados, with a limited yield of less than 2,800 Kg / Ha.
The altitude, its exposure, the origin of the soil, the weather and the harvest season give us always complex and different grapes, to respect its unique character, the method in each vintage is to observe its characteristics and continue its development until maturity.
