The Jorge Ordoñez winery
Bodegas Jorge Ordóñez Málaga, located in his hometown, was founded in 2004. Arising from the association between Ordóñez and the Kracher family of Austria, the winery was founded with the aim of resuscitating centuries of tradition in winemaking in Malaga, destroyed by the plague of phylloxera during the nineteenth century. Supporting his land and restoring his past glories is George's dream.
The winery has more than fulfilled its objective, producing the first and best dry Muscat of Alexandria, Botani, and reviving the tradition of unfortified wines in Malaga. Our series of sweet wines, Nos. 1 to 4, are among the best in the world, and are made following the style of sweet wines from Malaga, internationally recognized in the seventeenth to nineteenth centuries. In 2012, Nº2 Victoria became the first Spanish wine to be served at a Nobel Prize dinner.
Jorge Ordoñez Málaga makes his dry and sweet wines with the Muscat of Alexandria grape, the world's oldest cloning of the Muscat variety.
