Innovative project in El Bierzo, whose foundation is viticulture and the interpretation of the Berciano terroir. Located on the Losada estate, halfway between Cacabelos and Villafranca, in Alto de Pieros, the most traditional wine-growing area. From the oenological point of view, the design of the building allows the movement of the raw material by gravity, avoiding the use of mechanical pumps.
Pajaro Rojo Denomination of Origin
It belongs to the DO Bierzo. The Comarca del Bierzo is located in the northwest of the province of León. North of Spain. And it borders the provinces of Ourense, Lugo and Asturias. It occupies an area of approximately 3,000 square kilometers.
It has a smallholding farming system because the properties have been passed from father to son by inheritance and in each of these transfers the farms are splitting up and dividing more and more. In this sense it is very similar to what happens in Burgundy, for example.
It has a moderately undulating orography that makes it possible to distinguish between the estates that are best exposed to the sun and those that have less exposure, and each of them has the potential to make a different wine.
