Val de Nora a fresh and persistent albariño
Elaboration of Val de Nora
Val de Nora is made respecting the varietal aromas and the own freshness of the grape. Its character derives from the direct pressing of selected grapes at their optimum point of maturity and from small vineyards that are pampered all year round.
What kind of wine is Val de Nora
Young white wine of 100% Albariño grape without aging
The winery Viña Nora
The winery is equipped with the best technology for the production of white wines and is at the service of the fundamental objective of Viña Nora, which is to produce wines that are true to the land and to the Albariño variety. The winery has small containers that allow microvinifications and follow up each of the plots separately.
The harvest in Viña Nora is always done by hand in boxes of 16 kg and the grapes, after cooling in a cold room to 4 degrees, enter the winery in selection tables. All the processes of pressing, desfangado and fermentation are carried out very meticulously to respect the subtlety in aromas and the fragility of the Albariño variety.
Precisely with the aim of preserving all the characteristics of Albariño, only neutral yeasts are used that result in wines that are deeply varietal and capable of expressing all the peculiarities of a unique area within Rias Baixas due to its climatic and soil characteristics.
The selection of grapes and the care in the elaboration reaches its maximum expression with Nora da Neve, the Albariño fermented in barrel, which is elaborated in the winery, with grapes from old vineyards. The fermentation of Nora da Neve is carried out by means of the Burgundian method using 600 and 225 liters French oak barrels with subtle toasted and batonage for 5 months that adds complexity and potency without altering the subtlety of the variety.
