Quinta del Obispo chardonnay-gewurztraminer
V.T. Castilla y León
It is a variety that develops better in cold than temperate climates, reaching a relatively high amount of its own sugars, although gewürztraminer wines are usually dry with a bouquet of lychees and characteristic floral and fruity aromas, roses and passion fruit. It is not uncommon that this wine is also presented with light spritz bubbles characteristic of a sparkling wine, or needle.
Where is Gewürztraminer wine made?
These wines are made in the area of Traminer although today they are also scattered in other areas such as France and Spain.
Traditionally, wines made with the gewürztraminer grape are recommended for the accompaniment of fatty cheeses, such as Munster, game meats or smoked fish, salmon, being also considered for Asian gastronomy meals.
