Since January 2007, the Maturana tinta has been authorized, together with the Monastel, Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc and Verdejo in the Rioja, a name in which no new varieties have been introduced since 1925.

Highlights its violet red color; aromas of typical varietal vegetable character, with predominance of green pepper and also balsamic and spices; structured palate in which stresses acidity and astringency, with medium persistence. By not cultivating anywhere else in the world, its cultivation is very interesting to increase the originality, differentiation and diversity of Rioja wines
