Parellada grape wines.

The parellada grape is a type of Catalan white grape (Vitis vinifera).

Where is Parellada grape wine made?

It is grown in the highlands of Catalonia. It is a productive grape of good quality.

Its time of desborre is early and its time of maturation is very late. It has an average enrichment capacity in sugars. It gives a great performance. It reaches optimum maturity in the highest areas of the Penedés.

It produces aromatic white wines of moderate alcoholic strength, fresh aroma and delicate fruity acidity. The wines are fine, elegant and of little conservation. Young people are consumed.

In Catalonia it is often mixed with macabeo and xarel·lo to produce white sparkling cava, to give it structure, fineness, length and elegance. It is also used as a blend grape for young white wines. Some producers mix it with chardonnay and sauvignon blanc.
