Wines from the Valles de Sadacia Designation of Origin
Valles de Sadacia is a protected geographical indication, used to designate local wines made from grapes grown in the wine-growing areas of four valleys in the autonomous community of La Rioja, Spain. These four valleys are crossed by the rivers Iregua, Leza, Cidacos and Alhama.
This PGI dates back to 2003 and was created with the idea of ??making white wines from the Moscatel grape in the area of ??La Rioja. This area, which has been producing white wines since the Romans, suffered the scourge of phylloxera, which destroyed almost all of the vineyards, but the few wines that were produced were of great quality. It seems that the area is being revitalised thanks to the PGI and the drive of the wineries within it.
