Description:
Spectacular sweet wine
Special characteristics of the wine:
Pedro Ximénez grapes are dried in the sun and then go through a gentle pressing, followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature of 24ºC. Once the 11-12º alcoholic level is reached, it is headed with liquor until it reaches 19º of alcohol. The fortified wine, once fortified, is transferred to 500-litre American oak barrels, where it ages through the unique solera system. The special microclimate of El Puerto de Santa María, where our winery is located, favors gentle oxidative aging, imprinting its wonderful personality on this wine.
Fino type wine, with an average age of 6 years.
The history of Osborne dates back to the end of the 18th century, when a young English merchant named Thomas Osborne Mann arrived in Cadiz to market the wines of the area. He soon began doing business in Puerto de Santa María and it was in this town that he founded his own winery which, more than 200 years later, would become the great business group it is today, of international fame and recognition.
Grape variety: Palomino and Pedro Ximenez
Soil: albariza type, with great capacity for water absorption and a predominantly limestone composition, a type of soil that favors good root penetration to obtain the most diverse substrates, which are then transmitted to the wine.
