Sparkling Wines from the Grandin Winery

Grandin is the successful brand of a noble family, wealthy landowners since 1585. Alfred Grandin left his notary career to dedicate himself to viticulture, and in 1886 he founded the winery in Ingrandes-sur-Loire, which still bears his son's name today: Henri Grandin. Father and son worked together, developing the family legacy.

Forty years after the winery's founding, Henri Grandin managed the most impressive vineyard estate in the Loire Valley (3 châteaux, 800 hectares, 288 of which were vineyards). By 1926, it was producing 1,800,000 bottles annually. Henri Grandin quickly promoted the wines from his lands and developed a Traditional Method that bears his name.

With the initial Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) for Anjou Rosé, the success was so great that the winery expanded its range. Always brimming with ideas, the passionate Henri Grandin, together with his cellar master, established the Henri Grandin Traditional Method using white wines from the region, within the Loire Valley tradition: fresh, light wines with floral aromas and a citrus finish.
