Guelbenzu
Wines from the Guelbenzu Winery
At the foot of Moncayo, on a stony and infertile land, Guelbenzu settled more than 20 years ago on an estate, La Lombana, with 46 hectares of vineyards.
The history of Guelbenzu dates back to 1851, when there is evidence of the payment of taxes on jugs of wine sold by Mr. Martín María Guelbenzu.
It was his son, Mr. Miguel Guelbenzu, who modernised and promoted the winery, achieving important recognition in 1880, medals and mentions that have become part of the corporate image and labels of the range of wines, and remain so to this day.
Several generations later, Mr. Ricardo Guelbenzu took over the reins of the winery, beginning a new stage of development and growth, which began in 1992 with the launch of what has subsequently become the heart of our range of wines, Guelbenzu Evo and Azul, completed in 1999 with the icon wine of the winery, Guelbenzu Lautus.
