Terra Alta wines
Terra Alta is a name of Spanish origin in the west of the province of Tarragona, between the Ebro River and the border with Aragon.
The DO "Terra Alta" was provisionally recognized 1972. Together with Allela, Conca de Barbera, Empordà, Penedès, Priorat and Tarragona, is one of seven designations of historic origin in Catalonia. The tradition in production since time immemorial, some municipalities own wine alive and identity, the family estate of vineyards and wineries, often associated with the cooperative movement, passion, humility and work effort-are the highlights of the ways that women and men try to express through the wines "Terra Alta".
Possibly despite the importance and quality of red wines, the most obvious evidence of this culture should look in white wine.
Recently, in the mid-90s, the professionalization of the wine sector and the progressive incorporation of excellence in this culture are making a distinctive DOTA evolving and refining. A benchmark for those seeking to indulge in wine culture without sacrificing flavor and spirit.
