Wines from the Valduero winery
Valduero is a family winery that was born in 1984. It was created by Gregorio García Álvarez in the small Burgos town of Gumiel de Mercado, located 16km northwest of Aranda de Duero, in the heart of the Ribera del Duero.
In its beginnings, Valduero spent more than 5 years using some old facilities in Gumiel, together with which he acquired an old run-down press in the same town that he restored and put into operation. Said space, a 19 m deep cave dating from the 17th century, only had the capacity to store 500 barrels, so it was decided to expand it, reaching almost 1 km of tunnels dug more than 30 m deep, which today They house more than 1,000 barrels for aging the firm's best wines.
