This is a classic Rioja wine

Elaboration of the wine Bordón D'Anglade Crianza

The grapes, previously destemmed, ferment in contact with the skins at an average temperature of 22ºC. Once the fermentation has concluded, the wine remains in contact with the skins (grape skins) for 7 days. Malolactic deacidification takes place in new medium-toasted American oak barrels.

What kind of wine is Bordón D'Anglade Crianza

The wine is aged in American and French oak barrels for 12 months with interruptions every 4 months for racking. Subsequently, the stabilized wine continues its evolution in the bottle.

Sensations of the wine Bordón D'Anglade Crianza

Round, balanced wine. soft structure

The Franco Spanish winery

Bodegas Franco-Españolas was born in 1890 as the union between France and Spain at a critical moment in Rioja, when the French came to the region trying to replace their vineyards devastated by phylloxera disease. It was the origin of the “fine Rioja wines”.
All this led Frederick Anglade Saurat, a native of Bordeaux, to found Bodegas Franco-Españolas in 1890. The first vintage, one year later, results in the winery's icon wines: Diamante and Estilo Borgoña. This was renamed Rioja Bordón in the 1950s, and in 2017 it was redesigned as Bordón.
In 1920, fifteen years after Anglade's death, the French sold their shares and the winery became entirely Spanish. King Alfonso XIII visits the winery in 1903 and 1925. Ernest Hemingway will do so in 1956.
The end of the Prohibition Law in the US in 1933 and the resurgence of the Regulatory Council in 1953 gave a boost to exports of Rioja wines. Franco-Españolas has a presence in major European cities, as well as in Caracas, Buenos Aires, Havana and New York. 1964 is an excellent vintage, perhaps the best of the century.

Denomination of Origin of Bordon D'Anglade Crianza

It belongs to the DO Rioja, a denomination that dates back to the end of the 19th century, but which was not officially formed until 1925. The area that houses this denomination of origin encompasses the autonomous communities of Rioja and the Basque Country.
The grapes produced in this denomination are: Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo, Graciano and Maturana.
The wines of this denomination are characterized by being fresh, aromatic wines, with an excellent vessel and, above all, they are very balanced wines.
