Special characteristics of the wine:

Brega crafting

Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in open stainless steel fermenters (with temperature control) of 2500 liters. Short maceration to avoid excessive extraction due to the small size of the grains from old Garnacha vines.

What kind of wine is Brega

After the first fermentation, it is subjected to malolactic fermentation, in French oak barrels, for twenty months. For the first ten months, 40% of the barrels are new. Spend the next ten in 600-liter neutral barrels.

The Breca winery

Bodegas Breca was founded by Jorge Ordóñez in 2010 with the aim of making the best Garnacha wines in Spain. The Garnacha de Aragón, the clone used to produce the wines of Bodegas Breca, is the oldest and genetically intact Garnacha clone in the world. This variety was cultivated for the first time in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula, and crossed the Mediterranean as did the Kingdom of Aragon, which had territories on the other side of this sea.

Grape varieties used in Brega
