Tio Pepe

Tio Pepe

In the first half of the 19th century Jerez became the wine capital in the world. In 1835 Manuel Mª González Angel put his savings together and founded a small winery, in just 20 years González Byass had become the first winery to export Jerez wines.
He built his first large warehouses: Constancia, Apóstoles y la Cuadrada, and by the middle of the century La Concha, attributed to Eiffel, and Lepanto.
When he died in 1887 he had left not only a flourishing business, but a unique monumental ensemble.
A visit to the winery TIO PEPE by González Byass in Jerez will transport you in time, to this advanced city of the nineteenth century. That a good cup of Tio Pepe will return to reality ...
