Puerta del Viento has a vigneron from Bercia that makes the wines by hand using organic farming. The fruit of observation, the basis of his philosophy, part of the environment, which provides the substances necessary to defend crops against pests or fertilize plants. The secular heritage of the elderly is immense and deserves to be respected and followed, techniques applied for centuries by farmers, which - fortunately - endure in El Bierzo and will be maintained as long as there are people in debt to their origins.
In the production of the Puerta del Viento wines, that ancient wisdom is used that we will shed throughout this space in order to be able to share it, since we are proud to have been born in a land as fertile and friendly as El Bierzo. The Puerta del Viento vigneron is the craftsman who controls all the processes of making a wine, but who, above all, works the vineyard. Before obtaining official degrees, all the members of Puerta del Viento already worked diligently in the vineyards and made wine. A career without titles, but with equal or greater satisfactions.
It was necessary to answer many questions, carry out fermentations in different parts of the region, attend to exhaustive analyzes of our terroirs and a long etcetera. A journey that has paid off: Puerta del Viento. We hope you can enjoy them in good company as we already do.
