Bodegas Alodia was born in 2005 as the personal project of its winemaker, Sergio Labata. Sergio first trained as an agricultural engineer and then a winemaker. After working in several wineries in Somontano and a brief stay at HopeState Wines' Australian winery in New South Wales, he started his own winery. Since its inception, Bodegas Alodia has stood out among the wineries of the denomination for its unique production in the world, using innovative techniques such as wines without added sulphites or sparkling wines (champenoise method) and betting on the three unique Somontano varieties: Alcañón, Parraleta and Moristel.
