In the heart of the Ribera del Duero, a kilometer of Burgos town of Pedrosa de Duero, is the Pago de los Capellanes.
In the fourteenth century, the present village of Pedrosa de Duero housed a parish. It chaplains offered masses and prayers in exchange for small plots of land. Over time chaplaincy grew to a large payment.
